District Update on COVID-19 4-1-20

New Update regarding COVID-19
Posted on 04/01/2020
Dear Franklin Square Families,
We have been contacted by the parent of a Polk Street School student who self-reported to the district that their child tested positive for COVID-19. We have consulted with the Nassau County Department of Health and were directed to remind our families and staff to continue to follow State and local mandated precautions. As DOH is responsible for the investigation of confirmed cases, we are unable to provide any additional information at this time; however, out of an abundance of caution, I am reaching out to you so you are prepared should someone in your family experience symptoms of COVID-19.
As a reminder, if you have any questions regarding your health or the health of your child, please call your physician. We remind you that it is critical to follow new government directives and take the following DOH precautions:
  • Stay at home and only go our for essential items
  • As much as possible, stay at least six (6) feet away from others.
  • Use good hygiene at home, including frequent handwashing and disinfection of surfaces
  • Monitor yourself for symptoms, especially fever and contact your healthcare provider if you show signs of illness
We will continue to coordinate with the DOH and provide updated information as often as possible.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or need any support. Be well and take care of yourself and your family.
