School Closure Update 3-19-20
Posted on 03/19/2020
Dear Franklin Square Families,

We learned late this afternoon that the test results for the staff member at Washington Street School came back negative. However, we send our sincere condolences to this staff member's family on the loss of their loved one, who was initially diagnosed with Covid-19.

We were also informed today that a visitor who has frequented all three of our buildings tested positive for Covid-19. While all buildings and buses have been cleaned and sanitized thoroughly, out of an abundance of caution, we will be doing another deep cleaning and sanitizing tomorrow.

As a reminder, if you have any questions regarding your health or the health of your child, please call your physician. We remind you that it is critical to practice handwashing, sanitizing, and social distancing as we all work together to navigate this new landscape.

As mentioned yesterday, Governor Andrew Cuomo has issued an Executive Order directing every school in New York to close for a period of two weeks, ending April 1, 2020. The Governor will assess the situation again as we get closer to this date. Please know that our fantastic team is hard at work, preparing to roll out the best educational experience for your children. We appreciate your patience and partnership. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or need any support.
